Back
School:
Our back school is held the 4th Wednesday of every month from 3:30-4:30
pm. Rick Madden PTA educates patients in spinal anatomy, dysfunctions,
and body mechanics in this group atmosphere. 80% of the population
will experience debilitating back pain at some time during their
lifetime. This program provides the tools and education for managing
and preventing future injury. This program is ideal for anyone who
is eager to learn and take an active role in caring for their spines.
Graston
Technique:
Graston technique is a soft tissue mobilization treatment
that utilizes patented stainless steel instruments. It is effective
in treating acute and chronic soft tissue injuries. These instruments
detect & amplify soft tissue restrictions similar to how a stethoscope
amplifies the sound of the heartbeat. Access Rehabilitation is proud
to offer therapists that have attended specialized training in this
treatment technique. To learn more about the Graston Technique,

What
is a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)?
A FCE is an intensive short-term (usually 4 hours) evaluation that
focuses on major physical tolerance abilities related to musculoskeletal
strength, endurance, speed and flexibility (Matheson 2007). It is
a systemized approach using evaluation instruments whose reliability
and validity have been determined through peer reviewed research
and are available in the public domain.
Purpose
of a FCE:
- Identify
what the patient/client can do
- Identify
the client/patient’s return to work capacity/capability
- Provide effective
documentation for case resolution
- Establish
an objective baseline for treatment or return to work planning
- Establish
safe physical demand levels for future vocational opportunities
